Moulding Technologies began with a simple question: what if ambitious ideas could be made here?
WHERE IT BEGAN
2008
Founded in Lagos
Making room for bigger ideas.
Visionary architects and developers had ideas that local manufacturing could not always bring to life. The gap was clear: ambition was growing, but the systems to support it were not. What began as a response to the scarcity of high-quality finishes became a commitment to build differently.
Moulding Technologies was founded on the resolve to replace limitation with possibility. Beginning as a specialist polystyrene manufacturer in Lagos, the company set out to turn complex architectural ideas into locally made components instead of relying solely on imports.

Today, the work spans industrial manufacturing, building systems through Eco-Build, and architectural and creative fabrication. Across these areas, design thinking and practical making meet in the same conversation.

Abimbola Akinkugbe is a Nigerian architect, designer and manufacturing entrepreneur whose work sits at the intersection of architecture, materials innovation, construction and sustainable development.
As Managing Director of Moulding Technologies, she has guided the company’s work across architectural mouldings, insulation systems, construction panels, EPS blocks, custom forms and specialised design solutions.
Through EcoBuild by Moulding Technologies, she has advocated for wider adoption of EPS-based construction systems — work that includes contributing to sustainable housing at Mowe Golf Town. She has also served as Chief Design Officer at Heritrio, bringing passive and sustainable design principles into residential projects such as The Green Residences.
Her approach treats design and manufacturing as one conversation: the idea, the material, the method of production and the performance of the finished building. Her broader ambition is to show that sustainable construction in Africa can be a practical system for delivering better buildings at scale — not a premium add-on.
